a unique perspective a different path
Diagonal Media began with a bold leap. Founder and CEO Blake Drummond spent eight years in the Union production world, honing his expertise in logistics and coordination. But since he was a kid, he’d always had a camera in hand and the creativity on screen pulled at him.
With encouragement from a mentor, Blake stepped out from behind the desk, taking on gigs wherever he could—weddings, indie films and web series; anything to get behind the camera. The real opportunity emerged in media and advertising, where he found his niche: cinematic, engaging, and refreshingly non-stuffy B2B storytelling.
Blake made it official, and Diagonal Media, LLC was born.


From Vision to Reality
In 2015, Blake and his husband, Daniel Yund, a talented graphic designer, launched Diagonal Media out of their Hell's Kitchen apartment. What started as a small operation quickly grew, with DGNL’s freelance production teams traveling to work on projects around the globe.
A Dynamic Partnership IS BORN
Blake connected with Garrett Kafchinski in 2016 and bonded over their shared vision of making content creation simple for clients. Garrett is a jack-of-all-trades with experience ranging from DITing to editing and camera operating. In 2018, while on a job in Scotland, they set the next phase of Diagonal Media in motion over late-night coffee—Garrett officially joined Diagonal as a full-time Partner and COO.
